Assignment Description: The ability for patients to access healthcare information has increased over the last several years. Not only can patients access general healthcare information, they can also access and maintain their personal health information. This information is easily accessible and maintained with the use of computers, tablets, and smart phones. The concern for many is how do patients identify quality health information on the Internet? How do they make sure the information they add to apps on their devices is secure and their privacy is maintained? Do all patients have the basic computer skills needed to access all the available information?
This assignment will provide students the opportunity to apply their newly acquired informatics knowledge to develop a webpage that will provide information for patients on how to navigate this new world of healthcare information.
